Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of the Lackey Free Clinic. Enthusiastic individuals are needed in all areas of the ministry to serve the Lord and to bring Jesus’ love to the hurting and lame on the Peninsula. Many volunteers are needed in “behind the scenes” jobs, as well as working with Clinic patients. We utilize volunteer workers with medical as well as non-medical skills. We make the work at the Clinic fun and rewarding, as we create a positive, uplifting environment for the patient as they seek medical care at the Clinic.

Data Processing

• Times:      Monday-Wednesday 9 am- 4:30 pm; Thursday 1 pm-5 pm ; Friday 9 am – 12 noon

• Data entry: volunteer hours, services provides etc. Prefer minimum of 1 day per week and 2-4 hours

Front Office Workers

• Register patients; pull charts; answer telephone

Medical Professionals

• Medical Doctors, Nurses and CNAs needed at all clinics (at least one clinic per month)

• Clinic Hours:

  • Monday 8:30 – 12 noon & 1 pm- 4:30 pm

  • Wednesday 8:30 – 12 noon & 1 pm- 4:30 pm

  • Thursday 3 pm- 4:30 pm & 5 pm – 9 pm

Dental Professionals

• Dentists, dental technicians on Friday afternoon 1 pm- 4:30 pm

• Dentist to supervise Dental hygienists

• Dental hygienists to work evenings Monday or Tuesday

Administrative Assistants

• Answer phone                                                                                         

• Correspondence

• Do inventory

• Organize cabinets

• Shop for supplies 

• Telephone surveys

• Coordinate volunteers 

• Call patients re appointments

• Send out greeting cards 

• Help with newsletter

• Set up appointments for outside referrals   

Child Care

• Work with children in the children’s corner

Community Outreach

• Get supplies donated                                                                                   

• Christmas gifts for children

• Organize volunteer snacks/dinners during clinic

• Laundry gowns/sheets

• Distribute newsletters to local churches
